Legend is winding down.
After two years building Legend, we’ve made the decision to wind down the company.
We started with a bet that onchain finance could feel as simple as the apps people already trust. We believed the right interface could put DeFi’s most powerful primitives in front of mainstream users.
The Legend product found a real audience, but didn’t grow to the scale the company needed to be sustainable long-term. Closing is the right call for our team and our investors.
The biggest lesson? Mainstream users don’t care if a product is onchain or not. They want outcomes. Better yield, faster payments, more control over their money. The product that wins isn’t the one that explains crypto better, it’s the one that hides it completely. The benefits are felt, not explained.
We’re proud of what we shipped and the team we assembled along the way. To everyone who used Legend, who routed a cross-chain swap, earned yield, sent a payment, or just stuck around to see what we’d ship next — thank you. You showed up, used the product, and made it better by being part of it.
The Legend app will keep running normally for the next 60 days. It will go offline July 12. If you have funds in the product, please move them off platform before the app is shut down.

Announcement. New user onboarding disabled. Existing users encouraged to withdraw funds before shutdown.
- Weekly
Email reminders and push notifications to users with remaining balances throughout the sunset period.
- July 12
App shutdown. Documentation will be available at legend.xyz/sunset for 60 days after shutdown.
Ensure you are using the App Store version of the application (vs TestFlight) as it is most up to date.

Closing Legend isn’t the outcome we hoped for, but it’s the right one. DeFi has come further than most people realize, and the best version of it is still ahead.
